Beginning October 1 2026 - MetroROCK Newburyport will be joining Salt Pump Climbing Co

We are excited to make the transition and become part of the amazing Salt Pump Crew! Big changes mean big questions! Here is some of what we know moving forward.

Memberships: Existing memberships will remain active, though pricing will be adjusted and lowered as needed to match Salt Pump rates. Members will get full access to all Salt Pump locations starting October 1, 2026. Memberships will no longer be valid at pother Metrorock locations.

Programs: There will be no immediate changes to programs, including youth teams and after-school programs.

New waivers and busy first few days: These waivers will be applicable to all other facilities – i.e., if you sign one @ Newburyport you will not have to sign one at other Salt Pump facilities.

TR and Lead Certs: Whether MetroRock top-rope and lead certifications will be accepted at Salt Pump and vice-versa is TBD and will updated here as soon as we have determined this.

Punch cards, gift cards, and pre-paid memberships. Any existing punchcards, pre-paid memberships, and gift cards sold at the Newburyport facility will continue to be valid when it becomes Salt Pump. Punch cards and pre-paid memberships will be valid at all Salt Pump facilities. and will no longer be valid at all MetroRock facilities after 10/1. Gift cards will only be valid at the Newburyport facility.
