Youth Programs Director
Position Summary: The Youth Programs Director will be responsible for the development, coordination, and management of all non-competitive youth programs. This includes overseeing youth coaching staff, after-school programs, classes, and special events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for climbing, experience working with children and teens, and strong leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and oversee all youth climbing programs, including recreational teams, classes, after-school programs, and special events.
Recruit, train, and manage a team of coaches and instructors.
Ensure a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for all participants.
Collaborate with the Competitive Teams Head Coach to ensure program curriculum is appropriate for development; recommend participants for competitive programs.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in youth climbing instruction and safety.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make improvements as needed.
Manage program resources efficiently.
Foster strong relationships with parents, participants, and the climbing community.
Qualifications:
Experience in a similar role, preferably in a climbing or outdoor education setting.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certified Climbing Instructor (AMGA, CWA, or equivalent) preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification required.
SafeSport certification required.
