  • CLIMB

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will help you select the equipment you need to start climbing, as well as provide a tour of the facility and orientation for bouldering and auto belays. All those wishing to top rope climb and belay must pass a free belay test. Belayers must tie in using the rewoven figure-eight knot with at least 4 inches of tail. Allowable belay devices include tube style devices and UIAA/CE approved assisted breaking devices.

 FAQs

  • Bouldering is a type of climbing that is done on shorter walls, up to 14’ in our facility, without the use of ropes. The goal is to reach a designated finish hold. Thick foam mats are placed below the climber to cushion falls.

  • An auto belay is an automatic safety device used to provide a controlled descent for climbers. It consists of a mechanical device that attaches to the climber's harness and a lanyard that runs up the climbing wall. The auto belay takes up slack as the climber ascends and gently lowers them to the ground in a controlled manner when they descend or fall. There is a minimum weight requirement of 35lbs and a maximum weight of 330lbs.

  • Day passes can be purchased any time at the front desk upon arrival. They allow access to the facility from the time of purchase until we close that day. You could come in the morning, go grab some lunch, then come back for more climbing in the afternoon or evening!

  • Clothing: Wear comfortable and flexible clothing that allows for a wide range of motion.

Shoes: We recommend climbing shoes, as they are designed for gripping the holds on the wall. These shoes should fit snugly but not painfully tight. We offer rental shoe sizes kids’ 8 through adult size 14.

Harness: If you plan to use the auto belays or top rope climb, you’ll need a harness. We have harnesses for rent and for purchase, including full body harnesses for the littlest climbers.

Chalk and Chalk Bag: While not required for any type of climbing, chalk helps absorb sweat and improve grip while climbing. You can either bring your own chalk bag or purchase chalk in the gear shop.

  • If you have experience top rope climbing and belaying, the only thing you’ll need to do is ask the Front Desk staff for a free belay test. If you want to learn to top rope, we offer classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Classes are $60 for non-members and include a 10-day membership. Classes are FREE for members. Registration is required.
