Gym to Crag

A half-day class designed to introduce gym climbers to outdoor climbing.

• Pre-requisites: Previous climbing experience recommended, should be belay certified

In this class you will learn:

• Outdoor belay skills

• Communication skills at the crag

• Basic outdoor climbing technique

• “Leave No Trace” and concepts regarding outdoor climbing courtesy

• Intro to advanced climbing techniques, such as crack climbing

Top Rope Manager

A full day class designed to teach the fundamental concepts of building top rope anchor systems.

• Pre-requisites: Should be belay certified. Intro to Outdoor, Outdoor Climber, or previous outdoor climbing (top rope) experience recommended

In this class you will learn:

• How to use rope, webbing, carabiners, removable and fixed protection to build anchors on bolts, trees and with trad gear.

• How to tie specialized climbing knots such as the bowline, clove hitch, and the ring bend

• How to safely identify and use different anchor points

• The basic concepts of a safe top rope anchor system

• How to build different top rope anchor systems

Sport Climber

A full day class designed for indoor lead climbers designed to teach you everything you need to know about sport climbing outdoors.

• Pre-requisites: Should be LEAD belay certified; previous outdoor climbing (top rope) experience recommended.

In this class you will learn:

• About fixed anchors and how they work

• How to equip a sport climb

• How to safely clean a sport climb

• Risk analysis for outdoor lead climbing

• Sport climbing tricks such as speedy anchor cleaning and stick-clipping

Crack Climbing

• Pre-requisites: Belay certification or equivalent climbing experience

In this class you will learn:

• Hand Jams

• Finger Jams

• Toe Jams

Self Rescue

A full day class designed to teach you basic rescue skills and techniques to protect both yourself and your partners. This course will introduce you to ascending, hauling, and load-transfer techniques—vitally important skills for a passionate outdoor rock climber. This course is taught in a single pitch setting.

• Pre-requisites: Belay certification; Top Rope Manager, Sport Climber, or similar significant outdoor climbing experience

In this class you will learn:

• How to ascend

• How to haul

• Load-transfer techniques

• How to lower an injured climber
